Fishing near the Lake District and the River Esk
Only a few miles from the River Esk and a short journey to the sea, Camelot Holiday Park is a great place for fishing.
The River Esk flows through picturesque countryside typical of the Border area and much of the bankside is wooded with indigenous hardwoods. The river is generally fast flowing and with beds of rock outcrop or pebble shingle with no natural weed growth.
The salmon season opens on 1st April and continues until 31st October and The sea trout season commences on the 1st April and continues until 30th September.
The Border Esk is one of the best sea trout rivers in southern Scotland. Much of the available fishing on the Border Esk and Liddle (known historically as the Esk and Liddle Fisheries), extending to some twenty miles, is owned by the Buccleuch Estates and now leased by the Border Esk and Liddel Fishing Club, with much of the fishing available to both local and visiting anglers on a day, weekly or season permit.
